Maintenance and Repair
To meet Transport Canada standards, balloon owners must ensure that their equipment is inspected at least once a year or every 100 flying hours, whichever comes first.
The annual inspection consists of verifying that all components of the balloon are airworthy:
• Checking the tear resistance of the fabric
• Burner maintenance
• Checking the structural strength and integrity of the gondola, lines, load tape, and deflation valve
